Consensus Based

Consensus decision making is a slow, egalitarian, and transparent process where everyone must agree on the final decision.

It works well for decisions that will impact many people, especially when those people have valuable insights and can engage in candid negotiations

Define the problem or opportunity visibly
Brainstorm all possible options
Take an initial non-binding vote
Allow people to advocate for options they strongly support
Take another non-binding vote
Negotiate with holdouts, asking "What would it take to get you on board?"
Repeat steps 4-6 until everyone agrees
